Meet the Team

Matthew Carter, DDS

Patients’ goals are unique to each patient, so there’s no “one size fits all” standard that can be applied to everyone across the board. Treatment plans are tailored to each person’s lifestyle, attitude, goals, and his offerings as a dentist.

Dr Carters educational endeavors have taken him to learn skills taught world wide and include Level 4 training with OBI for full mouth reconstruction and occlusal harmony.  As his training in Holistic dentistry deepened, he began focusing his roll in the practice to be more on the surgical aspect.  To this he studied with Dr Judson Wall and continued his surgical training with SDS in Switzerland for Zirconium implants.  Furthering his education, he has studied with Dr’s Fernandez and Mora in Costa Rica with Trybe and most recently (and continuing) with Dr. Sharam Ghanaati with his advanced courses in oral surgery with tooth extraction, covered socket residuum’s, socket preservation and ridge augmentation.

Through constant education and refinement of his clinical skills, Dr. Carter brings a wealth of dental experience and knowledge to the table. The most fun part of his job is helping patients understand where they are and finding out where they want to go. As a happy husband and father, Dr. Carter enjoys spending most of his free time with his family. Father of three (Nico, Elynn, and Theodore), Dr. Carter very much enjoys helping his kids with their activities such as; golf, tennis or helping to tutor their studies. If time allows, Dr. Carter’s other passions are participating with the Catholic church, reading, golfing, hunting/fishing, gaming and the occasional hike.

Dr. Matthew Carter graduated from Creighton University Dental School in 2001 and has been practicing dentistry ever since. He married the love of his life a year later and together, decided that they would raise their family in Omaha, Nebraska. After serving people in the general public for years in traditional dentistry, Dr. Carter found that he could serve his patients better thru his passion for Holistic Biologically based Dentistry.  Helping patients achieve the highest level of health they want to achieve. With this in mind, Drs. Carter and Torres decided to reorganize their practice to address the perceived gap between traditional dentistry and a more whole body view of how the mouth contributes to the health of the individual. Re-establishing trust as a fundamental pillar of fundamental mistrust between doctors and patients by creating an environment where trust is a fundamental pillar to  treatment planning and patient care.

They wanted a practice that would address improving the patient’s health needs and lives in order to bring about a positive healing and advancement. In this environment, patients learn about how an individual’s lifestyle pattern has put them where they are today, and what needs to be done to create an environment of improvement.  Dr. Carter believes that when health is fully achieved, it means less dental work (which is what everyone wants!).

Dr. Carter feels that his purpose is fulfilled when a patient puts their health first and is able to maintain their dental care without needing his assistance.

Coatlicue Torres-Carter, DDS

Dr. Coatlicue Carter is a California Native from San Diego. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Biology from San Diego State University and was awarded the University’s highest award for her service to San Diego’s community during her education.

Creighton University Dental School brought her to the Midwest where Dr. Torres-Carter found the love of her life, made a home, and build a dental practice dedicated to individualized care. Both she and her husband Dr. Carter serve as the “dynamic duo” of Holistic Dentistry, sharing their passion for patient-first, total body healing. Together, they have begun their amazing search and journey to combine world-class Bioesthetic Restorative Dentistry with Biological Dentistry, to include biological compatible materials with respect for a deep understanding of approaching dental disease and complications from a holistic (whole body) approach.

She and her husband’s journeys lead them to ceramic implant courses from Astra, Camlog, The Schuster Center, Spear Study Club, and the Dawson Academy. Through her extensive search for the best patient care, she found her true love and partnered with the OBI Foundation and is currently in level 4 courses. Dr. Torres-Carter is a member of IOAMT (International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology) and is committed to delivering mercery, fluoride, and material safe practices. She is also certified in Swiss Biohealth Concepts and Swiss Dental Solutions Implants. Her passion for education comes from her deep love for providing exceptional, individual care to each patient. Her goals are to truly uncover our patient’s desires for health, function, appearance, and long-term desires and create an environment for the body that promotes healing.
